After having two sons I was thrilled when the doctor spread the word, "It's a Girl".

On the phone my only daughter waiting on the line,
The joy of my Julie filled my face with a smile,
Her cascaded emotions twere a beautiful chime,
looking forward to our talks it had been quite a while.

Hello Dad what's up? How are things going?,
Sharons got a new job and now all's aglowing,
And I'm oh so happy knowing
of a relationship filled with new hope.

And how are you Julie how is your college?
I just played my harp at somebody's wedding,
feasting my mind full of chemistry knowledge,
awaiting vacation don't know where I'm heading

There was talk of my ex who was fit as a daisy
sharing bout niece Shannon's new baby girl
and the next thing you know Julie is laughing like crazy.
I puzzled and pondered what's got into her?

She stopped laughing long enough to tell me the tale.
She thought twas Sharon, my wife and I thought that's my girl,
For Sharon and I were both fixed, near impaled
A labor of love Julie lit up my world.
