Ponder and Feel

Humans and puppets.

A puppet is figurehead of the unreal,
managed by hand or some wires or rod.
As human beings, we ponder and feel.

A skilled puppeteer makes Pinocchio kneel;
hinged at the knee, he’s less of a clod.
A puppet is figurehead of the unreal.

A puppet does not have to think of a meal,
or carry the hope of a better I-Pod.
As human beings, we ponder and feel.

Tomorrow for puppets is not a big deal;
they have no time nor awareness of God.
A puppet is figurehead of the unreal.

Basic reality has an appeal;
there’s a blue sky and the greenness of sod.
As human beings, we ponder and feel.

The world we inhabit has much to reveal;
unlike a puppet, we seek and applaud.
A puppet is figurehead of the unreal;
as human beings, we ponder and feel.
