A salute to The Granite Mountain Hotshots, an elite groups of firefighters lost in Arizona
Granite Mountain Hotshots, an elite crew;
nineteen souls lost when the wildfires grew.
Deploying shelters was their last resort,
for a mission that they would not abort.
Their heroics matched by only a few.

They faced a terror that few ever knew,
when over their shelters the fire-winds blew.
Whatever occurred they'd never report.
Granite Mountain Hotshots

Other firefighters would then fight anew,
even as the Hotshots were overdue.
Never would it be said that they fell short,
they left the scene with an angels' escort.
Firefighters' bravery is always true!
