Just something I wrote out of the top of my head.
“Katrina?”

“Go die in a hole.”

“Look I’m sorry, I-“

“Go kill yourself.”

“Katrina-“

“Felix!”

He stopped still, slipping slightly on the mud.

“I don’t care for your apologies. I want nothing to do with you anymore.”

“But-“

“Nothing!”

A deep sadness echoed around his eyes.

“You dare come near me again, I will do to you what you did to them. Get it?”

He nodded, and watched Katrina glide across the fields into the distance clutching her gun.

Behind him, stood the burning ruins of HQ, and within the smouldering wreckage, lay the remains of the Howlers – the race that now had one still walking the Earth.

In the distance, the last Howler was heard, shouting its cry at the setting sun. Felix, tears flowing down his face whispered to himself:

“I’m sorry Katrina.”
