I am flying
            Flying

Metal wings brisk and cold
Wings that never close
Of a bird that never sleeps

The bird's beak chiseled with glass
Unused to being used, its legs
Itch for the sky
Itch to walk
On air

The bird is
My friend it will take me away
It will keep me safe
As the city lights glow beneath us
It will tell me stories

And when I fall asleep
It will Tuck me in
It will walk
Through the air with me
On its back

A bird that never sleeps
Always flying
