A mother gets no sleep
A worried mother sits all night long
with teary eyes and telephone
Waiting for the call she needs
to set her twisted mind at ease

Where she wonders has he gone
waiting for her son to come home
Morning finds her still a mess
without a word or any rest

When the call comes that he is fine
he's been behind bars all this time
She finally sighs a breath of relief
closes her eyes and drifts to sleep
