Closeted freaks
Out in the open
All wearing
Piano wire neckties
One stumble forward
And they are dead
Done
Cut to the bone
Drained of any home
Make people do
What exactly
I don’t know
But I understand
Who does
He is waiting
For what
That is the question
That deserves his answer
But there won’t be one
Not any that we will accept
I am a wise fool
I know of what I speak
Articulation is my gift
What exactly is yours
Don’t know
Better find out
That is life
The sum of the game
The weight of the shame
A burdensome effect
Set to well-crafted music
Listen in peace
As parts of you die
Make people do
Again what is your truth
I only know mine by chance
By awkward happenstance
An observer of freaks
I see what they repeat
I know the games they play
The lives they dare betray
I see them slowly walking along
Caution is their theme song
The mantra of their modus operandi
I like to sing along as I take notes
Writing what I see and thus believe
It’s an interesting concept
Being on the outside
Of their outmost perimeter
Make people do
What exactly
I’ll leave that up to them
And thus up to you
I’ll only transpose what is seen
By me way out here
Beyond all that they could
And are comfortable with…
