While asleep in my bedroom, things got energetic and I thought I was dreaming, but...

Awakened from a deep sleep, feeling exhausted and grumpy instead of refreshed and joyful, with my eyes almost closed, lids very heavy, and fists clenched with my muscles tight, I realized that someone was in my bed. Or was this a dream...A Dream, I was certain so promptly and easily, I went back to sleep.

Quickly it seemed, I started dreaming again and, behold I had someone in my bed who was determined to be restless, annoy me, and bother my sleep. First they jumped on me, then ran over me, as if this wasn't enough, pummeled me and then ran away. What a nightmare! I was awake again, bah-humbug! This time, I thought of looking for a bat or something, but only managed to grit my teeth muttering words I'll leave out of this story.

Back to sleep one more time, at least that's what I was expecting to be able to accomplish. "Here we go again! What was that?" I kept hearing this strange noise like huge scratching vermin were trying to get into my bedroom. "This is ridiculous!" Hastily grabbing the pillow and placing it over my ears I tried to sleep. Suddenly there was this wailing or strange sound and I looked out the window to see why. Nothing, not anything in sight although I had a strange feeling things were not as they seemed. Time to get milk and then go to sleep.

In my next dream, I had the attentions of some one giving me kisses and hugging me. "Thanks mom, but I need sleep." Then CPR started even though nothing was wrong as far as I could tell, with someone breathing into my nose and trying to nudge me awake or bring me back to life, "Let me go, I need sleep!" Suddenly heart compressions were administered and this woke me up again. "Rats!"

No one was around so this must have been a dream. It's past the middle of the night now I'm determined to sleep. We must have had an earth quake because it sounded as if my books, personal items and accessories, and other things like hangers and shoes crashed to the floor, which caused me to almost jump out of bed in one leap for safety. Thankfully and grateful I was awakened, because I dreamed about being in a boxing match or wrestling match. I was pummeled, pushed. slapped. run over, bumped, bounced up and down, and jumped on many times.

Now, it's almost day light and still I've had no restful sleep.
Throwing the covers over my head and curling into a tight ball I fell asleep. Some how, a heavy weight lay on me, I felt trapped, and couldn't find my way out of this place. It was hot and stuffy, and I could hear the purr of a car engine. What's that smell? There must have been a gas leak, horrors, I've got to get out of here before the car blows up!

Startled from sleep, looking with blurred vision, a foggy head, and unable to move very quickly, I eventually realized I was in my bedroom. As I looked at my bed, I longed to rest in for many more hours, there was the cat soundly sleeping without a care in the world. She must be exhausted from all the playing she usually enjoys during the night.

"Wait a minute! I put my cat in the guest room so that I could get some restful sleep, I was very careful to make certain of this, how did she get into my bedroom? " As these thoughts slowly ran through my head, it occurred to me that perhaps my dreams were a result of an enthusiastic cat playing and hunting all night.

Slowly, I looked around and then I saw the answer to the mystery. "This isn't my cat! He's the cat I am cat sitting, for a friend. I forgot to put him in the guest room before going to bed." With steam flowing through every orifice, and muscles tense, I proceeded to remove the cat from my bedroom, and then go to bed. I couldn't sleep because I was fearful of dreaming and by this time the day was bright and full of sun rays. Sluggish and almost falling asleep on my feet, I resigned myself to going through a groggy and miserable day.
