Tribute to a boy who died young

POEM FOR ALEX

Alex, you only lived for fourteen years,
And we are left with a thousand tears.
We prayed so hard for you to live,
You had so much to say and give.

To so many people you were an inspiration,
You carried on despite amputation,
Your handicap you bore with determination,
Even playing your guitar – a sensation!

You never gave up, you fought till the end,
You spoke of Jesus, your faithful friend,
Amazing were the words you shared,
Treasured now by those who heard.

Goodnight, God bless, we sadly say,
Thank you so much for passing our way,
Now you’re free from suffering and pain,
In heaven you’re whole and well again.
