Despite hoping to win millions in the lottery, we should remain thankful - a poem. |
| Ask anyone in an honest, humble, idyllic, And pleasure-seeking state - If it sounds too good to be true, It probably is. For those rabid patrons Looking for a winning ticket Or jackpot of some kind Must duly face their lack of good fortune And go back to those prospective lives Of health, hope, and responsibility; With the extremely helpful support and decency Of the like minds In their simple, ordinary, and mundane lives. For what comes from this duty and discipline Will likely provide the kindest And most distinguished rewards Which life has to offer; Including freedom, liberty, And above all, The honor of being with friends and loved ones In those relevant, time-honored roles. |
