This isn't like me to...
Greedy Lusting

I did not think
myself to be,
a vengeful woman.

I did not dream
that I would be capable,
of exacting such revenge.

That night you
silently slipped in,
while I was sleeping
on my side,
I heard her name
move from you,
to me.

Pain and rage flowed,
the ecstasy and pleasure.

Blinded and confused
by the flames
of my
fevered heart,
I was sent
straight down
to hell.

The broiling jealousy,
fueled by the fires,
gave rise to a desire
for something holy
in this place;
righteous even,
and completely new.

With its gnashing teeth,
and hot sweet breath;
Caressing and toying,
had wrapped
its steely hands
around my soft spots.

That great
and terrible warrior:
With a smile
that kept flashing
and swords
rang out clashing
and drums that
kept beating
and my mind kept on racing
while the sounds of inner screaming ringing
and I knew that it was winning!

All suddenly went quiet...
as you lay back down beside me,
dripping with my scent.

Calm came
to aid me.
From somewhere safe
a voice
whispered softly
"She is not here.
And never will be."

But I am.
