A villanelle for the Sculpting poetry contest. |
| Mellifluous notes waft through air; Splitting me from my evil dream. The cuckoo sings, chirps in its lair. Tunes resound of a sweetness rare, With profound ecstasy I beam. Mellifluous notes waft through air. With wonder, at the bird I stare. Morning beams flood the sky and gleam. The cuckoo sings, chirps in its lair. Heart filled with joy, beyond compare. A mere daydream it does not seem. Mellifluous notes waft through air. Sorrow effaced, mirth I now bear. Soothes my soul, the dulcet stream. The cuckoo sings, chirps in its lair. Gladly I recite my prayer. My soul filled with a bliss, extreme. Mellifluous notes waft through air. The cuckoo sings, chirps in its lair.
