A couplet for Lexi's Poetry Contest.
Oh Lord! Save your children from their sins,
Who murder guileless souls and drink gins.
In this world filled with sheer treachery,
Breach of faith is a pure mockery.
Gone are those days filled with pure gaiety,
Thrives in the hearts only cruelty.
I offer you my abysmal pain,
Everyone is obsessed with their gain.
Where are those blue larks that used to sing?
An aura of calm they used to bring.
Ravaging wars fill us with turmoil.
In turbulence ,ourselves, we embroil.
I present You this holy lotus,
To battle our wrecked lives and bless us.
I place this faith on your sacred shrine,
For a celestial light to shine.
