A Thirteen-Year-Old looks for acceptance
A child raised by the father
Since the age of three.
Had to mind all the rules
of the family.
Tiptoeing on eggshells
Became a way of life.
Never allowed to stay with Mom,
Curious, she questioned why?
Overwhelmed at thirteen,
Crawled out a window and ran.
Running for a life not known,
Running for a better home.
