I'm free

I’m free because I live in a democracy
Where our strength is free press
And where reporting is done responsibly
And our leaders decide what is irresponsible

I’m free because of my education
Through which I can get the maximum out of my potential
Where scores on tests are given by teachers
And the results decide my educational options

I’m free because I get to decide my career
Where my resume predefined my trade,
And I’m told my success will be equivalent to happiness
Which is determined by paycheck and possessions

Western society, am I truly free?
