Age is not wisdom ... (Form:Roundel)
Age and Wisdom

"Does not life bring with it understanding1?"
I ponder words I read but don't accept.
What wisdom's found in those who are left standing
when tides of time have others away swept?

Wisdom and age lead to misunderstanding
for years alone bring age to those inept.
"Does not life bring with it understanding?"
I ponder words I read but don't accept.

Too often wisdom's shared as though commanding;
we're made to feel we've somehow over stepped
as if we've never learned, as though we slept
through lesson of our own which keep expanding.
"Does not life bring with it understanding?"
