This is a short poem about influences
Through hundreds of voices,
We only listen to one.
It will make us or break us,
But it’s that one who will decide,
Who you will become.
Who this “one” is,
Is up to you.

A lover, a mother,
A father, a friend?
But who should decide
If you’re good enough?
Should it be they,
Or should it be you?

Through hundreds of voices,
Dictating your thoughts
Through television and ads
Prompting you how you should be,
And how you should look
Who is the voice you’ll listen to?

Who will you let decide
If you are good enough?
