Two Faithful Lovers

A poem dedicated to a new couple's budding romance.

From the rosy hues of a brand new day,
To the deepening skies of a harkening dusk,
Two soon-to-be-engaged, distant lovers
Embark on an inspiring journey.

Past rolling clouds and streaking skies

Through windswept deserts and mountainous peaks

And along rippling, torrential seas...

Embattled to wits end
By life's troubling ups and downs

While enduring illness and grief
For much of their sworn lives -

With hope and prayer
Through countless decades
Of heartfelt laughter and gut-wrenching tears

To raise the blessed children
They brought into being

For a lifetime of endless sharing and peace,
On this wondrous orb
They call their temporal
And etherial home.
