News from Camp! Day 3, Christmas in July. (Form: End Rhyme)
A Letter Home ...

Dear Mom and Dad, I am so glad
you sent me off to camp.
It is such fun to swim and run
although it's been quite damp.

I met a girl like me, with curls,
and I now have a friend
to help time pass, until at last,
summer comes to an end.

You won't believe! It's Christmas eve.
That's not the Kool-Aid talking.
We have a tree; sing songs with glee.
I even hung a stocking!

Not too much sun, so just for fun
we thought what could we do?
We all chose names, part of the game,
to give a present to.

We added lights to keep it bright,
soon gifts were piled quite high.
The idea spread, and now, ahead:
Christmas in July!

We went gung-ho with Ivory Snow
to give the proper look.
A joyful scene, like in a dream
plucked from a Christmas book.

I heard a shout, "Time for lights out;"
tomorrow's the big day.
I'll say goodbye – but watch the sky
for Santa and his sleigh!
