A search for life

The ring of towering Evergreens block out the light
Everything below the trees
Screams for life from the sun
The stone buildings shrink from the growing moss
Vegetation begs for the rain to stop
Mold creeps into the corner of every building
With every day of rain
The bodies bloat
Retaining water and stretching the skin
Until the skin simply cannot hold it in any more
