Emotional scars, what would we have been in their absence

Life’s Lawn

Green blades of grass glistening in the dew,

Growing taller with each morning light,

Gaining strength with each day past,

A few tiny feet bent each blade of tender grass,

But, gathering together the blades sprang up, the warmth of the mother sun encouraging all to,

Larger feet tromped on by. Although, it was harder, all eventually survived,

Then, came the steel, long sharp blade, mowing all the newly formed blades,

Rain poured down, drowning most down into the ground,

A few did survive to glisten and shine, but none shone as bright with the loss of the rest.
