Humanity's Promise

A prose poem about humanity's promise re: the future of its children.

Peering inward while remaining dubious,
Though extremely hopeful,
Humanity looks to keep its eternal
And unquenchable promise,
A better and brighter tomorrow for its children
And a safer, more stable Earth
For its young ones,
Now and into the future.
Through endless teaching and nurturing
Of its sons and daughters,
And environmentally sensitive politics and policies,
Humankind can ensure an extended period
Of grace and glory in God's sentinel visage,
While furthering its dreams and visions,
In this amazing, yet difficult planet
We call home...
