I fight the battles.
Triumphant!
To the victor, go the spoils.
Wealth and fame surround me.

In my mind, I chat so wittily.
My companions yearn for more.
Speech, my weapon,
soft and deadly.
Yield, I to none.

In my mind, I am the goddess,
Full of beauty,
charm, and grace.
All who see, can’t help
but want me.

In my mind, only
silence.
Gone the pretend
that warded off,
the lonely.

In my mind, the door has
shut.
The tears I shed
are real.
