A woodsy Rondeau.

In my own woods I find a way
to travel back to yesterday
when childhood was O so bright
and picking berries was delight
on winding trails where we would play.

And whether skies were blue or gray,
there was so much nature would say
providing me her keen insight
in my own woods.

Though childhood is far away,
I walk among the stony clay
where I would soar in fancy flight
among the stars that shine at night,
inspired by the buds of May
in my own woods.
