An entry for Hint Fiction, September 2014. 99 words to include broom, basket, buck
|Maeve took her basket from its hook and leapt upon her broom.
"Fly me to the moon," she cried, "I need some new perfume.
She had flown but halfway there when, right before her eyes,
appeared a handsome, antlered buck, a wizard in disguise.
His lustrous coat was burnished, his hooves, black as night.
Maeve's eyes shone, admiringly, at this magnificent sight.
"My dear, I need assistance to break a foul bewitching,"
Her wand was in her basket. It was, very quickly, twitching.
A crash! A flash of lightning resounded heavenward.
Maeve was petrified! Bewitched! Her life, timelessly, deferred.
