yarn, needles, pattern, awe--more than simple components
a skein—
blues, greens blend
in and out of each other.
identity in juxtaposition.

two wooden needles
manipulate yarn into fabric—
each marred stitch
reimagined:
a design element.

a sheet of pattern—
difficult to understand
how knits and purls
interact with yarn overs
until rendered in actuality.

a gasp of wonder.
how can knitted yarn
look so like weaving?
praise.

I am a scarf.
