is this too much? I never ever use my achievements to get anything. Advice please
I hope this email finds you well.
My name is Fran Williamson. I am a retired Paralympian, winning six Paralympic and five World Championship gold medals for Great Britain. I write to you with the hope that you can help me.
A few months ago, I broke my foot meaning I had to be in cast and use a wheelchair full-time. A week ago, I had the cast removed. The bone is not quite healed and all the muscles around my foot have weakened to the point that it is going to be a good few months until I can walk again.
I have been given the go ahead to drive again, which is great. However, I currently drive a Seat Leon: normally I would lift my wheelchair in the boot and walk round to the drivers seat. Unfortunately, this is currently not possible.
I rely very heavily on my car and my ability to drive. I work as an Athlete Mentor for the Sky Sports Living for Sport programme. In this role, I travel around schools in the East Region to inspire as many students as I can. It is a job I adore and my services in this role are part of the reason I will be collecting an Honorary Doctorate from Anglia Ruskin University next week (14th October 2014).
Without a car I can drive, it is incredibly difficult for me to do my job and maintain my high levels of independence. Therefore, I was wondering whether you and your company would be willing and able to assist me with finding an accessible car I could use while I take the time to get back on my feet.
Any assistance offered would be gratefully received and the possibility of media and endorsement opportunities can be discussed.
I look forward to hearing back from you
