I wrote this poem describing what I felt like through various scenarios.
I am the barbarian who yells
Screaming at the top of lungs
Screeching ever so slightly
My heart pounds like drums

To stand up to the cat
And bat against the rat
I see once more through eyes
As my pride nearly ever dies

I am the goat with buck teeth, wide
Staring at the world with content
The sheep has no flock to yield
My heart is barely ever spent

To prowl through the night
As eyes bathe in fright
But I can see like the hawk
Preying on those who humbly walk

I am the lion with a violent roar
Crushing my enemies down
Seeing is believing in my mind’s eye
As by paws prance around the town

To steal and to feel pain
Tonight we can roar insane
With those rotting underneath
As we belittle those with tender feet

I am me and choosing to be
The silent protector at the helm
Tonight I can fight my way through anything
Because I am me and I choose to yell

To stop when I choose
Sometimes I will lose
But right now I choose to be proud
For the silence in me beckons to be loud
