Hanging On

In the black of the night

I search for a shimmer of light

To give hope to my plight.



Afloat across the vast ocean

Alone in my mission

for redemption.



No easy feat,

At times I cry defeat

and hide in retreat.



I must not surrender

Though my soul is tender,

What kills me not, will make me stronger.



Trying to be the best that I can be
