         Kiya does a great job of encouraging Product Reviews and the reviewers who write them in this active forum. This is a type of item long overlooked by any other contest on the site, but it is so important that the amount one can do is unlimited. Reviewing is an important facet of writing, whether it be member to member or member to product.

         Like her other activities, this three round contest was run very well and gave writers, who don't usually go in for poetry, a chance to showcase their dark stories. A creative and fun prompt. I hope she brings it back next year.

          Beautiful layout and graphics, easy to navigate, and great image prompts. Many poets find inspiration in nature, so it's great to see a contest that supports the genre.

          This activity allows reviewers to hone their skills against other reviewers on the same item, AND gives the item's author a valuable set of reviews 'all at once' to allow a really good overview from multiple points of view! It's brilliant.

         This item had all the elements of an excellent concept contest. It involved a number of WDC participants all standing for their own groups, helping to strengthen bonds of friendship and collegial competition.

         I am nominating these items because they are unique and really attractive. The theme they all have is good and gives a chance to writers to try something new, out of their comfort zone including sending submissions, writing dark items and attempting poetry challenges.

         This contest has a unique "fill the slots" structure that eliminates the possibility of low-entry rounds. The contest is also well explained, professionally maintained, and well judged.

         Three Prompts presents a good variety of prompts and offers great prizes with the top prize changing each round. The rules are clear and the contest attracts quality entries. The public vote allows the whole community to get involved even if they don't have time to enter.

What more could you want from a contest?

         A very different and unique contest which will make you think like children.

         Haiku contest which doesn't need much time, but invokes a lot of images.

Honorable Mention: "Wdc 14th Birthday Masquerade Party"   [13+] by Brooke
         This was one of the most enjoyable activities I've ever participated in on WDC. Running it could not have been easy, but Brooke is an absolute pro and the contest encouraged wonderful interaction between participants and facilitated new friendships between people who might not have crossed each other’s paths normally. It was a wonderful, community-centric activity and it deserves to be recognized!

          It's one of the most challenging poetry contests, and it will bring out your inner poet in ways you never expect, even if poetry is not a natural form for you.

          The contest offers a lot of variety. It's active yearly and awards short stories, poems, and blogs.
"Crack Kraken's Code Contest"   [13+] by Davy Kraken
         This is one place which has been dedicated to providing the code without fail. Lovely concept, mind-blowing thought put into the work. It always makes me oil my brain.


Best Raffle/Auction (F)

         Visual/imagery. Simplicity of structure. Quality and value of packages donated. Popular community response, and benefit to groups sponsored.

         Great layout, fun idea, and fantastic prizes. The custom merit badge is also a wonderful addition.
"LUCKY BONES GAME 2014-CLOSED"   [13+] by Hannah ♫♥♫
         This activity was so much fun. Hannah works very hard to make this fun and all the participants get into the fun and role playing fun. It's a blast and raises a lot of money.
Honorable Mention: "Genre Auction and Fundraiser"   [E] by Angels in my Ear
         This is the first and only auction to give a bio of the donors and to offer packages by genre. I learned a lot about some of my friends and was able to decide on who was the best person to review my work. It was also one of the biggest auctions I've ever been to. It's not only a great way to get genre tailored reviews, but a good way to generate friendships and community involvement.

         Created to help WdC members improve their world building skills. Wise timing (just before NaNo). In depth topics that cover just about anything a writer would need. A beautiful, custom merit badge for all graduates.
Honorable Mention (tie): "The Snail Mail Group"   [E] by Elle
         Although this group's health is based on member participation, kudos must be given to Elle for creating and nurturing this idea. It's add a touch of "personal" and connects members with something far more special than email.
"The Newbie Research Center"   [E] by Cinn
          It's sometimes hard for newbies to acclimatize themselves to WdC, and even longer to get some kind of recognition for their work, or just the warm fuzzy of receiving an award or MB. The NRC is a wonderful and much-needed group that strives to nurture new writers and improve the overall experience for those taking their first steps into the wonderful world of WdC.

         Blog City has brought bloggers together more than any other blogging group this year. There is so much community spirit and effort put into this group

         The Fantasy and Science Fiction Society is a new group with excellent and engaging features dedicated to help aspiring and published writers help each other. FSFS is an outgrowth of the Coffee Shop of the Fantasy Society, whose leadership and many of its members were looking for something more focused on the craft and business of writing for genre.

         This is a great way to bring some variety and multimedia to the site. Such a great idea!

         This group's main purpose is to highlight and reward poets for their talent, and I think the premise is one that should be commended.

         This new group is for those who love the works of and works about Jane Austen. Megan writes and edits a Newsletter that is informative and entertaining for those interested in this writer. She does a great job of thinking of challenges and fun activities for the group.

         The content of this group is just staggering. Aside from the basic reviewing rewards, the subgroups (such as the alumni teams) that are connected to the AoC are just as amazing as the core group. Great rewards for casual reviewing and fantastic goodies for those who stay for the long haul.

         DRSmith made me laugh out loud with this short story. It is one thing to tell a funny story and quite another to write it in a way that leaves the reader laughing out loud. Fantastic writer

         It is a sign of great writing when you read more than you intended on every visit because you need to know what happens. Tiggy pulls the reader in for a great reading experience in this fine novella. I will not give it away. Read it and see what I mean.
