Some gifts are not worth accepting. |
| Holiday gift, brightly wrapped, unsolicited front porch offering. The card reads: Be careful what you wish for... ...glints of curiosity unease mind’s eye, surge of anguish seeking fulfillment wishing, somehow, knowing was divine right, denying what stirs in tantalizing enigma wanting all beneath bright dome of Heaven, lifted like thriving sea creatures from pressurized darkness, treading eggshells as per message gnawing of Hallmark unsigned (veiled threat or sage advice?) Wayward ships mocking ambition’s want on waters perpetuated by need to know-- quiet serenity pinned to sky this now wondering this now wandering of sureness summarily ushered off to ethereal cloud-castles-- And so who are you to blend within secretive winds this taunt of offering with warning? And who am I, defined by reason resonating as timeless virtue, one to allow such goading? 30 Lines Writer’s Cramp 12-19-14 |
