Despair overtakes the mind

I stand there gazing into infinite blue

The ascent long and treacherous

I begin

Rung after rung, I feel powerful

Nothing can stop me

I reach the top

A foot appears

Crushing my fingers

I fall

Reflection fills my mind

Where did I go wrong?

What did I do?

I crash

I lay there

Sorrow overcomes my heart

Opening my eyes

I stare into infinite blue
