A wonder-filled Christmas Eve. |
| Far and away from home there lights another Christmas. The reds and greens extant, the silver bells and mistletoe. I am alone tonight abiding in Ramada. The cold determines me despite the warmth within my room. There is a wealth of loss without my friends and family; holiday cheer somewhere, yet it is far beyond my reach. I leave my room and walk through the lobby. The desk clerk friendly nods me a grin. I decide to go out seeking fresh air. The night so crystal clear and here that is rare. And up in the sky I see the reason; the wonder put in fires afar. Then the joy electric surges my spine I feel the wonder of the universe-- the joy of Christmas Eve will be mine. By and by (feel the awe), look to the sky. 28 Lines Writer’s Cramp 12-25-14 |
