The Referee

It’s half time at the NMG,
Ilkeston none, United three,
Who’s to blame? The referee!
Blind as a bat, we all agree.

I’m sure he isn’t qualified,
All their goals looked well offside,
Get some glasses, people cried,
Their disappointment they couldn’t hide.

In the second half there’s more to see,
Wow, he’s given us a penalty!
Duffy scores, then another three...
We’ve won the game – shouts of glee!

Fans who were sad are now glad,
Wearing the biggest grins they’ve ever had,
What a game, and I might add -
Well done ref, you were the best we’ve had!
