Written as an exercise in iambic pentametre for a 'poetry' course I took. |
| Ode to My Car I have a car, it's small and cheap to run; I drive it fast, 'specially when I'm late! I like to drive; I think it's really fun, But paying for the fuel is not so great. Let's not forget the speeding fines so steep. To drive slow I must really try, because A date with court I do not want to keep! The judge I'm sure he would not give applause. But I must drive, I cannot stop you know. It's like a craving in my very soul! So, at a lower speed I'll try to go; Without my car I doubt that I'd be whole! The lesson to be learned today from this, Is driving brings me to a state of bliss. |
