The Battle Over - A War Has Begun

After a recent San Jose Sharks loss, I had to vent - a poem.

A salute to the victors seems
Boastful and premature.
For victory is at the forefront
Of everyone's impressive
And now chastened mind -
And that cherished goal of winning
Stands well within everyone's cyclical,
Though seemingly oddball reach...

Because a far-reaching and pivotal moment
Is quickly losing
Its identity and advantage -
And much chaos and calamity may ensue,
Which could change the once-happy landscape
Of effortless domination
Into one filled with much remorse. 

Every man, woman, and child
For themselves,
In this portentousness
Of gigantic proportions...
