The hope for all abused animals

A sonnet meant to inspire you to help animals as told through the eyes of a dog

Thou I look for love from them that which I believe true
I did believe that though I knew it was false
That they might think me as a stupid animal
Unwanted in their eyes no love is found
Thou beaten and abused I hope still
Hope to find the love I seek
As the day gives to night I find myself safe
No longer abused I wait till the love is found
As days turn to weeks my hope begins to fall
Oh wherefore thou be seeking love
O love that we seek in seeming trust
As days go by I find myself pining for what I seek
As day turns to dusk they come with love the others lack
Therefore whence they came they take me
As dusk gives way to night we sit beside them
They beside me the love that's true found my family
as we close our eyes my tail wags with knowledge that I found love
Love of the ones that are my true family
My hope is that whence they came others follow
Saving other pets with the love we long for we wait for that day
The day we all find the love we seek
