a progressive poem painting a beach scene
Waves crash upon the seashore.

A dog runs into the waves,
That crash upon the seashore.

A dog runs after a ball;
running into the waves,
That crash upon the seashore.

A teenage girl throws a ball and
Her dog chases after it;
running into the waves,
That crash upon the seashore.

Children build sandcastles,
Beside the teenage girl,
That throws a ball and
Her Labrador puppy chases after it;
running into the waves,
That crash upon the seashore.

Parents/guardians bathe in the UV Rays,
Whilst their children build sandcastles,
Beside the teenage girl,
That throws a ball and
Her Labrador puppy chases after it;
running into the waves,
That crash upon the seashore.

Scavenging Seagulls soar above,
Circling the Parents/guardians; bathing in the UV Rays,
Whilst their children build sandcastles,
Beside the teenage girl,
That throws a ball and
Her Labrador puppy chases after it;
running into the waves,
That crash upon the seashore.

Dark clouds gather ominously,
Above the Scavenging Seagulls,
Circling the Parents/guardians; bathing in the UV Rays,
Whilst their children build sandcastles,
Beside the teenage girl,
That throws a ball and
Her Labrador puppy chases after it,
running into the waves,
That crash upon the seashore.

Rain falls from the ominous gathering of clouds;
Raining on the seagulls,
Raining on the Guardians and parents,
Of the children who abandon their soaked castles,
Raining on the teenage girl,
Raining on her soggy dog,
Raining on the waves,
That crash upon the seashore.

The rain finally abates.
The clouds have disappeared.
The seagulls have flown.
The dog is back home.
With the teenage girl.
And the parents/guardians have left,
With their saturated children,
But the waves continue their endless cycle
And crash upon the seashore.
