Distance from myself

Just getting some thoughts out, trying to clear my head and get my writing going.

So far away from who I was
So far from who I am
So far from who I thought I'd be
I'm not sure where to stand.

The memories hit me like a cold brick wall
The feelings engulf me like flames
The sounds and the smells and the familiar tastes
I can't believe I'm making the call.

It makes me sad, it makes me mad
I'm not sure how to feel
I can't take this anymore
I just cannot deal

Maybe someday things will all get better
Maybe someday I'll be alright
Maybe someday I will give up the fight
And finish this song in a letter.
