What will become of us?
Who shall hereafter thrive on legacy
When naught remains but ink stained impermanence
On burning pages for our truths carry
No lasting meaning beyond transience
Grasp we at the wisdom of empty words
While bright lights soon begin to fade
Like a poets misinterpreted verse
Goes the sunrise slowly turning to shade
While caught we in existential dread
Upon thoughts too deep to comprehend
But deeper still lie the known dead
For be it known even legacies end
