| Mets' Matz injured with sore lat By: AJ Murphy The Mets' rookie has a partially torn lat, and the Mets will go without him for three weeks. When the Mets announced that Matz had the injury, there was a cause for concern regarding the team doctors and how they go about treating the injuries. Steven Matz has had some great moments in his two career starts. Matz debuted on the 28th of June, driving in four runs and notching his first MLB career win. However, sometime in between that, Matz felt stiffness underneath his left armpit. On July 5th Matz tossed six shutout innings while fanning eight batters.
