Unspoken

free verse poetry

my mouth is open
in a silent scream
the silent words are
like pieces of
broken glass
they float around
my head
cut me
make me bleed
my mouth opens
i feel my vocal chords
coming to life
they start to vibrate
hum
but they never get
the chance
you talk first
my mouth closes
vocal chords
remain still
the silent words
are still floating
cutting me
making me bleed
they will never
get out
forever remaining
in this silent scream
