Gales gossiped through the mountains
as the sky erupted in squalls
Rays of sun flirted with brutal torrents
turned to sleet
Shadow trees danced in the distance
indignant
Night revealed a lustrous veil
that embraced the heavens

Tenderness came over us

Townsfolk blew words into the winds
tangled our spirits into precipitous chasms
Memories lingered of chancy affections
turned aloof
Glassy stars signaled
for a faraway moon

We dove into love

Our thundering hearts whispered
secret desires
Passion thrust us
past a scarlet storm at sundown
Until golden light teased the skies
into magnificent sapphires
