The work week once again, then glad it's the weekend - a prose poem.
|The triumphant retort
Of a gregariously short weekend
Now faces its most ineviable reality -
The disappointment and dread
Of Monday's cruel and determined arrival.
Life embarks on a rather conspicuously cold journey
Into yet another work week,
And once again you tackle
That stress-filled, heartless grind
At its ripest and most onerous peak;
Then, those emergent shadows fraught
With misery and mayhem are somehow averted
And you help yourself
To even more weekend fun and relaxation,
Anxious to breathe and take in
Excessive amounts of laughter, friendship,
And worthwhile, wholesome entertainment...
