THE DREAM

Awaking from some dreams can leave a profound feeling of sadness, and loss of the past.

I had a dream last night,
And saw an old friend to my delight.
He didn't stay long, only to say hello,
Or catch a ball or two, as far as I could throw.
I gave him a hug, and he drifted away.
It was sad to know that he couldn't stay.
I had raised him and loved him from just a pup.
I had a dream last night, and sadly woke up.
