A contest entry
"Secrets

I was sworn to secrecy by my land
I had the highest clearance on hand
I served on a missile crew
I had many top secret things to do.

I did not want to be so sick
I tried hard to make myself stick
Yet the secrets were just too much
It took me from my job as such.

I love my country and always will
I loved her then and I do still
Since my disease could do her harm
I left the service at its alarm.

I still keep secrets though it is hard
I want to live in a free backyard.
