Remember, Remember, the eleventh of November
Forgotten Voices

A choir of mislaid voices
Echo round these halls
Muffled by the mists of time
A peeling beacon calls
A bell rang in another place
Resonating through
This game of Chinese whispers
An ever changing hue
A cry out through the ages
A cautionary wail
Muted by times stages
Blunted is the tale
Forced to wag another way
To serve a different time
Memories so led astray
By far the bigger crime
As ghosts scream out their innocence
Begging to be heard
The choirs’ voice is washed away
As phantoms are interred
Made to sing a different song
For a world they’d never know
A future that they fought for
A past that helped them sew
The present’s errant choices
A symphony of calls
A cacophony of voices
Forgotten in the halls
