"I Love Piano Duo"

Sugar plum fairies danced in her head,
Each evening was safe solitude,
Ol' Dad played The Nutcracker Suite,
And ballerinas twirled to Tchaikovsky.

Tucked in bed full of joy and peace,
A four-year-old towhead nestled in sleep,
She dreamed of a dancing princess
draped in diamonds on chiffon.

Hard day at work and children to feed,
Ol' Dad relished the evening hours,
He dreamed of Carnegie Hall
for himself and his wee one.

"Please play my favorite song, Dad."
She sidled up to Ol' Dad and confided.
His fingers could play magic
on those black and white keys.

Ol' Dad and his towhead both
treasured this thought,
Classical piano was their passion
and food for their souls.

Reflecting years later, she knew
Ol' Dad never made a mistake,
If he did, she never noticed,
He played like a one-man symphony.
