Dear me contest 2016
Dear Me,

Welcome to 2016! Almost out of your twenties and I must say I'm a little worried for you. What will it be like to be thirty years old? We might as well make this our best year yet. I know it will be a big one for the family since we will be adding a baby to our family of four. That will make it five mouths to feed, to keep clothed, to love. We should try to keep it simple but try some new things.

Always one to admire hand-made blankets, afghans, scarves, and the like, how about we make our own? A baby blanket shouldn't be too hard to crochet. I already picket out the yarn. It's soft and cuddly and will keep the little one nice and warm. You should do some research on pinterest and some youtube videos. I have seen some where you can make little dolls and their clothes. How cute is that?

Also, all the extra money we will be spending we will need to save somewhere. How about couponing? It's funny how that word has become a verb in the last couple of years. Being off for maternity leave will make money tight for a while so it's a good thing to do and help out with the groceries and other household expenses. I think you have bookmarked a couple of websites already.

Do you think you can handle one more? Something that we love and are passionate about. Writing of course! After joining the group "Level Up" this year we should enter a magazine contest or two. Really put our best writing and editing out there for the world to see. Don't forget about the newspaper contest for the Fourth of July.

While we think about things we can do, what about the things not to do? I know life gets rough from time to time but you usually take it out on your husband. I know he's a work in progress but give him some credit, he works hard so you can spend most of your time at home. Perhaps you can look to learn some meditation techniques.

Can't wait to see what we have accomplished and I am holding you accountable. Good luck and write soon to let me know your thoughts!

Well Wishes,

Stephanie Ferguson
