The individuality of twins [Ballad]

Twins
by: Winnie Kay Davis

They’ve known each other since the womb
And shared most everything,
From toys and clothes and school and room
To tricycle and swing.

Each Christmas gift, the same design.
No Birthday was their own.
Their shadows seemed to intertwine
As one, and not alone.

Then individualities
Emerged as each boy grew,
Two single personalities
With their own point of view.

They now have diff’rent lives to live,
But when one falls in pain,
His brother’s there with love to give,
And two are one again.
